Add-ons are optional additional goods that customers can purchase alongside their tickets. Use them to increase revenue and enhance the customer experience. Where to find it: Events > Inventory > Ticket Types Use this when you want to offer extras like a priority entry upgrade, food and beverages, or merchandise items that customers can add to their order at checkout. |
When to use this?
Add-ons let you sell optional extras alongside tickets without creating a separate event. Common use cases include:
- Flexi ticket: Allow customers to make their ticket flexible so they can visit whenever they want, rather than being tied to a specific time slot.
- Priority entry: Let customers pay to skip the queue and enter the venue faster.
- Food and beverage: Offer drinks or snacks in advance to boost on-site revenue. For example, a tote bag with a pre-ordered coffee.
- Merchandise: Sell branded items like tote bags, posters, or souvenirs at a special price as part of the ticket purchase.

📋 Note Add-ons are created as ticket types with the Add-on category. The creation flow is similar to regular ticket types, with a few extra settings covered in this article. If you haven't created ticket types before, see How to create products and product groups. |
Create an add-on
1. In FeverZone, go to Events and click the Events list. In the search bar above, find and select your event.
2. Click Inventory in the left menu. You'll land on the Ticket Types tab.
3. Click New ticket type in the top right.
4. Enter a Name for your add-on. This is what customers see during checkout so we recommend keeping the title short and succinct. For example: "Tote bag," "Priority entry," or "Welcome drink."
5. Under Category, select Add-on from the dropdown.
Configure basic settings
6. Under Basic settings, choose a Product type from the dropdown. This determines the tax rate applied to this add-on. Select the type that best describes what you're selling — for example, select Merchandise for a tote bag, or F&B ticket for food and drink items. If you're unsure which type to select, contact your Partner Manager.
7. Enter a Base price. This is the default price (without the tax). For example, $5 for a tote bag.
8. Select a Group to organize this add-on with others. You can create a group called "Add-ons" to keep all your add-on products together. For details on creating groups, see How to create products and product groups.
Configure add-on settings
The Add-on settings section controls how the add-on appears and behaves during the customer's purchase flow. These settings only appear when the category is set to Add-on.
9. Choose a Selector type:
- Toggle — the customer can add the item once, with a simple on/off switch. If it’s logical for your customer to buy one item, always go with this option as it offers an easier user experience, which will likely result in a higher conversion rate for your add-on.
- Stepper — the customer can add multiple quantities using a +/- counter. Best for items like food and beverage or merchandise, where a customer might want in different quantities. For example, a customer buying 3 adult tickets might want 2 tote bags.
10. Choose a Display step:
- Inside the ticket selector — the add-on appears directly on the event page, below the ticket types. Customers see it as they are selecting their tickets, before they click to proceed. Best for add-ons that are relevant to certain ticket types. E.g., welcome drinks offered with VIP tickets only.
- In a sheet, after ticket selection — the add-on appears as a pop-up after the customer has selected their tickets, just before checkout. Best for add-ons that need increased visibility.

11. Choose a Pricing type:
- Fixed amount — the add-on has a flat price in the event's currency. For example, $5 for a tote bag. This is the most common option.
- Percentage over base price — the add-on charges a percentage of the customer's total order value. For example, if set to 10%, a customer spending $20 on tickets pays an additional $2 for the add-on. Note that you can create only one percentage over base price add-on per event.
Add content settings (optional)
12. Expand the Content settings section.
13. In the Instructions field, enter any information customers receive by email after purchase and see when viewing tickets in the mobile app. For example: "Grab your tote bag at the gift shop by showing this code."
14. In the Details field, enter information shown in the ticket selector when customers view the add-on. For example: "Take home with you a tote bag that will remind you of the time you spent with us." This copy should be concise. Avoid writing a long text here as this is the one or two lines your customers will see when adding the add-on. We recommend not adding hyperlinks as it would distract the customers and may decrease the conversion rate.
Set purchase limits (optional)
15. Expand the Advanced settings section.
16. Set the Tickets allowed per user by entering a minimum and maximum quantity. For example, set Min: 1, Max: 10 to allow customers to purchase up to 10 tote bags per order.
Set conditional rules
Conditional rules control when a customer can purchase this add-on. This is the most important setting for add-ons.
Most add-ons should not be available as standalone purchases. A tote bag or priority entry only makes sense if the customer is also buying a ticket. Without a conditional rule, a customer could purchase the add-on without any ticket in their order.
17. Expand the Conditional rules section.
18. Under Selection rule, choose an option from the dropdown:
- No rule — the add-on can be purchased on its own with no dependencies. Use this only for add-ons that make sense as standalone purchases.
- Required — the add-on needs to be included for customers to complete the purchase.
- Needs another ticket type — the add-on can only be purchased if the customer also has a specific ticket type in their order. This is the recommended option for most add-ons.
20. If you selected Needs another ticket type, a Needed ticket types field appears. Select all the ticket types that qualify — for example, your Adult and Child ticket types. The customer must have at least one of these in their order to add this product.
|
💡 Tip For most add-ons like tote bags, priority entry, or F&B items, select Needs another ticket type and choose all your standard ticket types. This ensures customers always have a real ticket before they can add the upgrade. |
21. Click Save. Your add-on now appears in the Ticket Types tab.
