What it does: Define how many tickets can be sold for each time slot, product group, and individual product using capacity templates.

Use this when you need to set limits on how many tickets can be sold for your event's time slots, groups, and individual products.
Before you start
Prerequisites:
- You've already created your products and product groups in the Ticket Types tab. Capacity templates reference these products, so they need to exist first.
When would I use this?
Every event needs capacity defined before tickets can be created. You'll use this step to control how many tickets are available. Here are some common scenarios, though your use case may differ:
- Your venue allows 100 visitors per time slot and you need to make sure total ticket sales never exceed that number.
- You want to limit VIP tickets to 20 per time slot while keeping 80 available for general admission.
- You have a higher-capacity setup during peak periods (weekends, holidays, summer) and need a separate template with increased limits.
How capacity works
Capacity in FeverZone uses a cascading system. You set limits at three levels, and the strictest limit always wins:
- Time slot capacity — the total number of tickets that can be sold for any single time slot, across all products. This is the master limit.
- Group capacity — the maximum number of tickets that can be sold for all products within a specific group.
- Product capacity — the maximum number of tickets that can be sold for an individual product.
Here's how it works in practice: Imagine your time slot capacity is 100. Your "General Admission" group has a capacity of 80, and within that group, "Adult" is set to 80 and "Child" is set to 80. Even though each product allows 80, the group limit of 80 means the total across Adult and Child combined can't exceed 80. And no matter what, the time slot limit of 100 means total sales across all groups and products can't exceed 100.
⚠️ Important: These numbers are limits, not reserved allocations. Setting "Adult" to 80 doesn't mean 80 adult tickets are set aside — it means no more than 80 adult tickets can be sold. If child tickets sell faster, they'll consume the shared group capacity first.
Set up the base capacity template
Every event starts with a Base Capacity Template. This is the default capacity behavior for your event.
- In the Capacity tab, you'll see the Base Capacity Template with a column for each of your products and groups.
- Enter the Timeslot capacity — the total maximum number of tickets that can be sold per time slot across all products. For example, if your venue holds 100 visitors per hour, enter 100.
- Set capacity limits for each product group. This limits how many tickets can be sold across all products in that group. For example, set the "General Admission" group to 80 and the "VIP Experience" group to 20.

Set capacity limits for each individual product within a group. This lets you control how specific products sell within the group's limit. For example, within the "General Admission" group, you might set "Adult" to 80 and "Child (6–17)" to 80 — meaning either product can sell up to 80, but the group limit of 80 still applies to the combined total.
💡 Tip: If you want all products within a group to compete freely for the group's capacity, set each product's limit equal to the group's limit. The group cap will do the work. If you want tighter control — for example, ensuring no single product type dominates sales — set lower individual limits.
Create additional capacity templates (optional)
If your event has different capacity needs at different times — for example, more visitors during weekends, holidays, or summer months — you can create additional templates. You'll apply them to specific time slots when building your schedule.
- Click New capacity template in the top right.
- Enter a Name that identifies when this template is used. For example: "Peak," "Summer," or "Holiday."
- Enter the Time slot capacity for this template. For example, if your venue can handle 150 visitors during peak periods, enter 150.
- Click Save.
- The new template appears as a new column next to the Base Capacity Template. Set the capacity limits for each group and product, just as you did for the base template.
⚠️ Important: Changes to capacity templates only affect newly created tickets. If you've already created time slots using a template and then update the template's numbers, existing time slots keep their original capacity. Templates define the starting point for new tickets — they don't retroactively change tickets that already exist.

Once your capacity templates are ready, click Next to move to the Schedule tab where you'll create your event dates, time slots, and apply these capacity templates.
