Move seats from one category to another — for example, converting VIP seats to General Admission to capture higher demand. The seat price updates automatically to match the new category. No additional pricing step is needed.
- Click Manage seating > Manage seat categories.
- The Categories tab opens. On the left, you see the available categories (e.g., VIP, General Admission) with seat counts and color coding.
- Click the category you want to assign seats to (e.g., click General Admission to move seats into General Admission).
- On the map, click the seats you want to move to that category.
- Click Apply changes to save. The seat counts update and the map recolors to reflect the new assignments.
| Tip: Click Reset to defaults to undo all custom category changes for this event and revert to the category assignments defined in the seating chart. |
| Note: If you click Reset to defaults, a confirmation dialog will ask: “Remove custom categorization for this event, and switch to the categorization defined on the chart?” Click Confirm to proceed or Cancel to keep your custom setup. |
What customers see
When you move a seat to a different category, the customer sees the new category name and price during checkout. For example, if you move a VIP seat to General Admission, that seat appears as a General Admission seat at the General Admission price.
